| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description LEGAL ENVIRONMENT OF BUSINESS is the #1 text for this course--setting the standard by delivering comprehensive, authoritative, and cutting-edge coverage in an interesting and accessible format. Its recipe for success includes the same "black letter law" flavor as its #1 Business Law counterpart Business Law by Clarkson, Miller, Jentz, and Cross, but with a more specific focus on current topics like ethics, government regulation, and administrative law. The cases, content, and features of the exciting new 7th edition have been meticulously and thoroughly updated, representing the latest developments. An excellent assortment of cases ranges from precedent-setting landmarks to recent decisions. Ethical, global, and e-commerce themes are integrated throughout, and numerous critical thinking exercises challenge students to apply what they've learned to real-world issues. The text also offers an unmatched range of support materials -- including innovative online teaching and learning resources. It's no wonder that LEGAL ENVIRONMENT OF BUSINESS is used by more colleges and universities than any other business law text.

The "boring-ist" book you'll ever have to read, but... June 26, 2009 Steffferrrzzz 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Obviously, this book would not be at the top of my summer reading list, but it is required reading for my Business Law class.
Although the legal jargon can be daunting, it tends to insert humorous examples and case studies in at the most unexpected times- just enough to keep it halfway interesting. Good for what it is, but I would suggest taking an accelerated version of this class if available.
Great price August 7, 2010 college_kid I needed this textbook for a summer class, so I didn't want to pay a lot but I wanted a good book. It was brand new and even with shipping it cost about $65 less than buying it at a bookstore in town, which was so worth it. I also got the book the next day in the mail with next day shipping, so I didn't really even have to wait. So worth it.
Textbook July 21, 2010 Yvette H. Allison The Legal Environment of Business is a good textbook. I will use it for two classes. It has a lot of information that has helped me better understand some of the government areas.
Kindle Version EXTREMELY LIMITED! April 20, 2010 John Douglas Bow (Davis, CA United States) So I purchased the Kindle version of this book, and it is only available to read on the Kindle. It cannot be read on the Kindle for PC software, nor on the iPhone. I also assume it cannot be read on the blackberry. I guess it is some sort of licensing thing, but I am not sure.
Concerning the content of the book, it seems pretty straightforward, and the explanations are clear.
Too bad about not being able to read this Kindle version on multiple formats.
The Legal Environment of Business March 24, 2010 C. Stergios (CA, USA) This book is okay. I think it focuses too much on the what rather than the why of business law. While what is the law matters at any one point in time, understanding the why leads to a longer term understanding of its evolution and any changes that occur. The questions after each chapter are often too similar and fail to truly present more than one critical thinking problem. Moreover, it presents matter in such away as that the course of litigation appears black and white and predictable...which does not do justice to the intricacies of the system and the uncertainty that inheres in it.
