| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Issues ranging from conflict and security, to the economy and economic development, to the environment are explored in this fully revised and updated edition of "Introducing Global Issues."Increased attention is given in the new edition to the historical conditions that have exacerbated the gap between North and South. Also notable are discussions of international efforts to deal with such challenges as terrorism, human rights violations, the threat of nuclear proliferation, global warming, and the seemingly intractable Israel-Palestine conflict. The material has been successfully designed for readers with little or no prior knowledge of the topics covered. Each chapter provides an analytical overview of the issues addressed, identifies the central actors and perspectives, and outlines past progress and future prospects. Discussion questions are posed to enhance students' appreciation of the complexities involved, and suggestions for further reading additionally enrich the text. This title introduces students to the challenging contemporary issues of conflict and security, the global economy, development, and the environment.

| Customer Reviews:
Easy Reading December 13, 2002 A. Corns (Frankfort, Ohio USA) Michael was my professor for the Honors Global Issues class at Wilmington College for Fall 2002 term, so I might be slightly biased. =) However, I found the book to be easily followed. The subjects flowed nicely and it was easy to understand. Studying from the book took little time as there is not a bunch of B.S. in it. Great job, Mr. Snarr!
Nice Intro August 5, 2003 sunshine608 (Atlanta, GA USA) A very breif, but good introduction to the basic problems that face the world
