Product Description Steve Irwin's sudden and tragic death made headline news around the world. Shock and grief followed. He was a giant and the world has lost a man of heroic proportions: the Crocodile Hunter touched and change lives everywhere. Wildlife Warrior charts Steve Irwin's amazing life - from his childhood in Victoria, Australia, through his work in the wilderness and his zoo. It follows his story into marriage and his fame on the world stage as he took every opportunity to spread the word about wildife conservation. He was a natural historian, whose passion will be remembered long after the world has paid its final respects. A percentage of the proceeds of this book will be directed to ensuring the survival of wildlife around the world.

Rehash with mistakes December 11, 2006 Shani (NH) 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
This book is a rehash of information culled from other sources. He used information from the Irwins own biography with little change to the text. This book has many inaccuracies and, for an author who claims to have interviewed Mr. Irwin, startling little insight into the man or his mission. I am afraid the critics were right on this - you can't pull together a real biography in such a small amount of time. Save your money for a well researched book that will hopefully follow later.
Accurate view of Steve Irwin's life December 17, 2006 Michael Downey (Manly, NSW Australia) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I found the book an interesting wrap up of a life cut short in it's prime; I wasn't an Irwin fan but I read the book to find out why people so admired him as I am a lover of wildlife. Mr. Shears wrote in a journalistic manner, clear & concise and without pretension and I got a fair idea of what sort of a man Steve Irwin was without mythology. A good read. Michael Downey

This is one of the best reads ever. It turned my whole family into wildlife warriors.
bullseye December 21, 2006 VIDA (Vanuatu) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book is a wonderful read , really hitting the target. I like the easy way it lays out Steve Irwin's life from his early years to his sad end and poignant farewell. The simplicity of Richard Shears' writing style particularly strikes a chord with many of us in developing nations where more than 75% of the population can barely read. The author has allowed us to share, with the rest of the world, in the life of a man who wanted his message about caring for the earth and all its creatures to reach us all. And it has --through Wildlife Warrior. Bravo! May we all have the courage to stand up and be counted even in the face of criticism and derision as Steve Irwin did.
Croc hunter-He changed our world January 13, 2007 Patricia L. Joubert (Winter Haven Florida) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a very well done book about such a remarkable man. It was purchased for my daughter. His death broke her heart. He was/is her hero. She decided at age 4 she wanted to be a zoologist after watching croc hunter. Reading about her hero has brought her joy. It is a great tribute to a remarkable human being. CROCS RULE!!!
