Product Description PEZ's claim to collectible fame is among one of the most intriguing urban legends on the books. The Best of What's Out There June 10, 2003 DJ Sauter (Columbus, Ohio) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
Although it's not a highly competitive category, this book takes the top spot in Pez guides. Being the newest, it has the most up to date pictures, prices and products. The extended section on candy packs, and Pez paper products/inserts is helpful, as other books lacked in that departement. Overall it's a solid price and picture book, with accurate estimates and such. It's the best of what's out there, so it's worth a shot.
Must Have for Pez Collectors! January 1, 2001 Caprice Caster (Kansas) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
The pictures are the best I've seen in a Pez book. Having a picture of the ultra-rare Lemon Crazy Fruit and Pez Pal Admiral are the closest I will ever come to having the real thing in our collection. Some of my favorite pictures are the glow-in-the-dark dispensers. They actually glow in the pictures. And the variations that are pictured are fabulous - that in itself has given me a renewed interest in getting all the variations (mostly because I didn't know they existed until I saw them in this book). The way it's sorted is great too -- it's easy to navigate and find what you're looking for really quickly. There's an illustration glossary for beginners -- it actually shows a picture of what a "melt mark", etc. is. He has price ranges listed for all the dispensers too. It's my favorite PEZ book so far!
Excellant, up-to-date source of PEZ information! December 18, 2000 Shawn Peterson (Blue Springs, Mo USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
The book is packed with 160 pages of color photos, including items as new as the worm, catapillar, ladybug and 2000 version of Peter Pez to such rare one-of-a-kind items as all of the Disney soft heads, the Admiral (only one known to exist) Worlds Fair Astronaut, and the Crazy Fruit Lemon prototype and everything in between! There are 22 chapters dealing with such things as history, pricing information, ad sheets, candy packs, displays, conventions and newsletters. This is a must have for all serious PEZ collectors!
An Essential Guide For Any Pez Collector July 5, 2004 J. A Hayes (Montgomery, AL United States) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Many people like myself collect Pez dispensers. It is a wonderful hobby to have because it is virtually impossible to find every variation of every dispenser there is. Sometimes there are many different variations of a single dispenser, for example the colors that were made. This is where this guide comes in handy. In here you will find colorful pictures of almost every known dispenser made, along with pictures of some different variations. This helps you know what you are looking for when you want a certain dispenser. Listed also are estimated values of the dispensers, which is also helpful in giving you an idea of what that certain dispenser will cost you normally. Also pictured in this book are different inserts from the packages, different displays that were available, different flavor packs that have been packaged with the dispensers and even Pez with unique or foreign packaging. This is a great book for collectors and even those who are a little interested in Pez dispensers. The pictures and information make it easier to know what you are looking for, so if you are looking to collect Pez I recommend this guide as it will be a big help to you.
Excellent, reliable source data for current PEZ values. September 9, 1999 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
We have used the 'Guide' for many years and are pleased to see it imporving with the changes occuring in the (PEZ) hobby. We would prefer to see all items listed in a straight alphabetical order, with perhaps, sub categorization listed in smaller typeface where appropriate. For instance, Mickey Mouse would appear in its proper 'M' alphabetical order and then as added data, the fact it is a Disney item could appear. There were a few important PEZ items simply omitted from the 10th edition but the authors have been most responsive and promise they will be added in the 11th. We are confident that will happen - and we look forward TO the 11th edition!. Dean F. V. Du Vall, Sr. & SuEllen M. Headly: The Headley-Du Vall PEZ Collection
