Kagnew Station January 27, 2006 I. L. McWherter (Kensington, MD) A book of this type must be reviewed on 2 levels. Level 1 as a mystery novel: A really great book with a plot you can understand and enjoy with the intrigue of a potential tryst. The story takes place in some far away places and has enough detail in the story line and the locations to make it all believeable. Level 2 on location: Paul, thanks for taking me back to Kagnew and refreshing my memory to the beauty of the area and the wonderful tastes and smells. (Tract F Jan 69 - Jul 71).
Kagnew Station February 22, 2006 R. J. Ellis (Kennebunkport, ME) Like Betit's earlier book, Phu Bai, Kagnew Station is a very good, fast-paced read. I recommend it to everyone who loves suspense and mystery. R.J. Ellis, Kennebunkport, Maine
WHEN AN ELITE GROUP'S, FROM THE ASA, BORDOM LEADS TO MURDER April 14, 2008 Bernard A. Sznaider (Beautiful Clawson MI USA) Paul Betit tells a story about just one of the scams that takes place in the Military, and every other place in society I imagine, also read Catch 22. When you're one of the top 10% I.Q. in the Military, and assigned to an outpost that few Americans knew about, but most of the Russians did, bordom leads to crime, and in this case Murder. Paul tracks down the leads like Adrian Monk in the T.V. detective series. Why this book hasn't been made into a movie is anyone's guess. Maybe they haven't found it yet. Yeah, I was there, but I was too busy searching for the Lost Ark, and didn't mess around with the small stuff. Did I find it? well for $19.95 plus shipping, I'll sell you a map suitable for framing .....
