Product Description Named one of the best Cookbooks of the Year 2007 by the Los Angeles Times. We may hate to admit it (and never would to the French), but the truth is there is still nowhere in the world where food and cooking are so passionately and intricately woven into lives, hearts, and minds than in France, a country where masterpieces of home cooking are produced nightly, whether for a family supper or chic dinner party. So how does that archetypal Frenchwoman do it? And how can we take a feuille out of her livre? With chapter titles such as "Shops Wisely", "Knows her Classics" and Steals from Chefs", this book will tell you how. Trish Deseine will teach you all you need to master French cuisine: from the top 20 classic French recipes to the latest trends and influences. A superb book from one of France's best-known cookery authors.

Easy Classic cooking May 3, 2008 Sarah Brazil (Marbella Spain) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this book as the tv series to match it was shown on Irish television.I found the book very good especially the introduction to all things french. The quality of the foods used and the manner in which they are presented were great.Trish has a very relaxed and easy manner and it shows in her writting.I have tried 5/6 recipies in the book and with great success. After reading the book,I now feel confident to experiment with a lot of different foods especially truffles and foie gras and organic products.I loved the section on cheeses and all the varieties available. In general I found the book great and will be buying this book for my friends as a gift.I would recommend this book for people who can cook quiet well as it takes a little knowledge to prepare most of the dishes. My favourite recipe was the organic chicken with apple, cream and good cider and apple brandy with mushrooms.Highly Recommended!!!!!!
