Product Description This newly revised edition of Written in Blood, expanded by Michael Heinl, includes new research and an updated version of the 1996 edition's orthography of Creole. Written in Blood remains the most complete history of Haiti ever written in English and one of the most complete in any language.

Excellent Background to Understanding Haiti September 15, 2007 James A. White (Woodbridge, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
"Written in Blood" by Col & Mrs Heinl is a "must have" for anyone interested in Haiti. The Heinl's trace the long and bloody history of the island and it's peoples and link these events together with their clear writing style. In this updated version, their son seamlessly carries on with the tale. When Haiti once again "resurfaces" as the crisis of the day (as it will), leaders and policy makers would do well to read this book.
