Customer Reviews: Brave woman lives with peace corp with three small children and a husbandFebruary 11, 2008 Bette Waters(Deming NM USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Gayle's husband was head of Peace Corps in Nigeria in the '60's. The PC workers were committed to live and eat like the natives. Ms. Lewis tells a griping story of living this lifestyle with three small boys, one in diapers, and being a helpmate to her husband as well as an unpaid emissary for the Peace Corps. Their adventures are documented with letters she wrote to her family and the journals both she and her husband kept. Nigeria comes alive for me.
Illustrated with vivid photographs.
