This is typical attempt to try to portray the poor indiansoldier as avalient fighter. The details appear mostly rhetoric and i wish the author had given more substantive and objective details and accounts.

PS Ignore the delusionary paki imposters.

1 out of 5 stars Good read, but otherwise useless   August 7, 2002

The book is a good read, and entertaining as such ... a good chest thumping piece in other words, but little else than that.

This was the best book I've read on the Kargil war, which brought India and Pakistan close to a full fledged war. Great work has been done by the author to record the first hand account of the war. A very good read if you want to know what this war was all about. I specifically liked the unedited first hand accounts of the soldiers who faught the hand to hand battles. He has not only told about bravery of the soldiers, but also is critical about the failures of the intelligence and the army.

A definite buy !!!
